Build, preview, and fix errors

  • Open a compile-capable source file (.tex, .typ, .myst, or .md with compile flow enabled).
  • Keep the bottom panel available so you can inspect diagnostics.
  • Ensure you can edit and save the active file.
  1. Open the target file from File workspace.
  2. In the preview toolbar, set compile mode to Auto, On Save, or Manual.
  3. Run Compile if needed.
  4. Open the bottom panel and inspect Output and Problems.
  5. Click a problem row to jump to the exact location and fix the source.
  6. Recompile until errors are cleared.
  7. Review the preview and use zoom/page/find controls to validate output.
  8. If needed, export/print from preview actions.
  • Compile completes and the Problems list has no blocking errors for the active file.
  • Clicking a problem navigates to its source location.
  • Preview reflects your latest source state after compile.
  • Output and Problems tabs remain usable for later diagnostics.
  • Compile button appears inactive
  • Confirm the active file is compile-capable in Markup formats.
  • Preview does not update
  • Run manual compile and check for source errors in Compiler, build, and preview.
  • Errors are hard to trace
  • Use Problems list navigation to jump directly to each issue location.
  • Compile controls missing
  • Verify the active file format supports compilation in Markup formats.
  • Output panel stays empty
  • Switch between Output and Problems, then re-run compile. Keep the build log visible while reproducing.
