Resolve sync conflicts and permissions

  • Open the affected project and keep status indicators visible.
  • Have enough access to inspect project member roles.
  1. Check collaboration status (Synced, Connected, Connecting, Offline) in the status bar.
  2. Confirm your role and membership in Sharing and permissions.
  3. Distinguish permission issues (viewer/revoked access) from transport issues (offline/disconnected).
  4. If a file was changed outside your current editor state, resolve with Keep mine or Load external before continuing.
  5. If access changed, re-open member state in Share Project and retry.
  6. If sync is degraded, reconnect and reopen the project.
  7. Use Version history when you need to recover after conflicting edits.
  • Collaboration indicator returns to expected state.
  • Previously blocked actions (edit/comment/share) now work for your role.
  • Conflict banners are cleared and file content is stable.
  • Still cannot edit after reconnect
  • Re-verify role is not viewer and check whether access was revoked.
  • Sync keeps flipping between states
  • Treat as connectivity instability; avoid concurrent high-risk edits until status stabilizes.
  • Recovered content is still inconsistent
  • Restore from a known-good snapshot and coordinate with collaborators before continuing.
  • Unexpected redirect or access message appears
  • The owner may have revoked access; request re-invite from a project owner/admin.
